Hi Olga!

Thanks for your concern about Nano - he's much better now. finally we were able to take off the plastic cone that was protecting his injury today! He is much better, and spent about four hours cleaning himself!

I can reccomend a film that will be easy to understand, although it's a little strange. It's called 'Dogville' and it stars Nicole Kidman. It's an experimmental film, and isn't a happy one. It's also 3 hours long, so you shouldn't be tired! If you are stuill interested, then it's on at the Verdi cinema in Gràcia.

If not, then there are plenty of more commercial films on at the cinema, although I haven't been to see anything else recently, so I can't reccomend anything! If I hear of a good film, I'll tell you!

Hi Olga!

I understand your concern - English is a language that takes a long time to master, but you're getting better all the time. The important thing is to keep practising, and use all the opportunities you get (using this weblog is one example!)

So, you like architecture? I used to work with architects and designers in London - I know that it takes a long time to study it, and you have to be a particular type of person to be able to be good at it...

How to improve your English? Believe it or not, reading in English is one of the best things you can do - if you read something you're interested in (a little a week), then you'll find that your English will improve a lot. Going to the UK or USA is a good way to, but while you're here, you can do lots of things to help yourself. The key is practice!

Hi Graham!

When I finish tourism, I would like to go to UK for 1 year (more or less) to practice and improve my english. I'm concerned about my english level because I have studied english since I was 8 years old. And it's very difficult to me to understand and speak in this language.

Also, I would like to continue studying, but I don't know what yet. I like architecture but the people say me that it's very difficult and you have to study and practice every day (it's a problem because I'm very lazy. I like engineering. Well, I don't know.

Could you give me some advice to improve my english?
Although I think the best way to learn is going to UK or USA.

Hi Olga! Thanks for your concern about Nano! He's better now - the vet told us that it was probably a virus, and we have to be careful with him for a while, but it's probably nothing serious.

Did you know that people spend lots and lots of money trying to give up smoking nowadays - it's a big business. As I don't smoke, I can't really understand why people need to do it, but as you say - it's an addiction.

I came here to try teaching, with the idea of staying a year or so, and here I am after more than nine years!

What do you want to do when you finish your Tourism studies? Do you know yet?

I hope Nano are better.
I began smoke when I was 16. I don't remember the reason. Well, I didn't like it but I continued. Nowadays, I can't give up smoking. It's very difficult. I need it. It's as a drug.
I wish I hadn't began.

Why did you go to Spain? To work? To live?

Hi Olga!

Say Hi to Trufi from me. I have two cats, and one of them Nano had to go for emergency surgery on sunday. the poor cat was traumatised, and it took me ages to get him into the cage to take him to the vets. He is back home now, but is still very confused and a little angry at me. I just hope he's OK now.

Why do you smoke so much when you know it's bad for you?

When I lived in LOndon I was very Happy. It was a very good time, though almost all my friends had left the country and I didn't know too many people there. I remember how I liked to have that feeling of learning a new thing every single day. I remember myself going back home after work and start thinking about what I had done that day and to find myself happy just becaus I had learnt a new saying, or verb, or adjective...

Hello! I'm Olga. I'm from Spain and I'm studying Tourism in Barcelona, in ESADE-St. Ignasi. I'm 21 years old and I live in Rubi (a small ville near Barcelona). I have one brother older than me whose name is Jordi and I also have a dog which name is Trufi.
